Who's that masked band? The best way to describe Creole Connection would be Keith Frank's "alter ego." The band is a means for Keith Frank to explore all facets of zydeco music, without alienating the fans who have come to expect a distinct sound from his Soileau Zydeco Band.
The Creole Connection represents the extended, multigenerational Frank family coming full circle, and returning to the music of their ancestors. The music they create is musically inclusive, as opposed to "retro." Keith's uncle Carlton Frank emerged from retirement to play fiddle an instrument all but nonexistent in contemporary Zydeco. With a combination of English and Creole French lyrics, varying instrumentations, classic songs and bright new originals, The Creole Connection serves to include the entire Frank family in its delivery of "holistic" Zydeco to a listening public beyond Louisiana to the rest of the world.
While the musicians in the Creole Connection are largely the same members as the Soileau Zydeco Band, they mark their departure from that style by assuming costumed aliases. They are:

Marcy Gras - (bass guitar, vocals)
Cambo - (drums, vocals)
Pedro 'Hot Pick' Morales - (guitar)
Nonc Loy - (violin)
Bubba Flex - (scrubboard, vocals)
The Creole Connection can be found out on the festival circuit on occasion, when the very busy schedule of the Soileau Zydeco Band permits. In fact, on occasion, The Creole Connection can often be found playing on the same festival bills as the Soileau Zydeco Band. This gives audiences the opportunity of a lifetime, to experience all flavors of the Frank Family zydeco, both contemporary and traditional/retro.
